Last year, more than 100,000 people like Cassandra called United Way 211, a 24/7/365 information and referral line looking for help:

“A year ago, I was at my wit’s end. The two jobs I worked were barely enough to keep us all afloat. Most months, I could almost pay for rent, food, filling my dying car with gas, and keeping my growing son, Malcom, in shoes and clothes. When I knew we wouldn’t have enough food to make it to payday. I called United Way 211. They connected me to a food pantry and even a place that could get Malcom his school supplies and another that could deliver some meals to my mom who needs special food for her heart condition. Now I’m in a job skill program working towards a better future for my family.”

For more than 100 years, with the help of generous supporters like you, United Way has provided assistance for our neighbors in crisis. In addition to helping people meet their basic needs, United Way collaborates with other nonprofits, corporate partners, and local governments to address the conditions that cause hard-working people like Cassandra to still struggle.
